Sister Becky Craven

Sister Becky Craven was sustained as the second counselor in the Young Women general presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints March 31, 2018.

 

Sister Craven’s parents joined the Church when she was four years old while her father, a career Army officer, was stationed at Ft. Bliss, Texas. Shortly after joining the Church, her family moved to Germany, where she started school. She was also educated in England.

She received a bachelor’s degree in interior design from Brigham Young University.

Sister Craven met her husband while she was a student at BYU. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple in August 1980. They are the parents of five children and have 18 grandchildren.

Sister Craven and her husband have served on the BYU Athletic Advisory Committee. Over the past 15 years, she and her family have also traveled to villages in Kenya, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru and Guatemala for CHOICE Humanitarian to help rural communities end poverty. She also serves as an executive board member for that humanitarian organization.

Mostly recently, Sister Craven was an ordinance worker in the Bountiful Utah Temple. She also served with her husband when he was president of the North Carolina Charlotte Mission. She has been president in the Relief Society and Young Women organizations and has also held teaching and other leadership positions.

“My testimony has remained solid and has been strengthened through consistent study of the Book of Mormon and relying on the wisdom of living prophets,” she said. “Together, they are the word of God, the iron rod, which guides me daily through this troubled world.”

She enjoys playing games with her family, hiking, snowshoeing, water sports, painting, quilting, traveling and Sunday dinners with gospel discussions.
